1963 Lotus 25

Ref: SEF-A002

Perhaps the most significant of the new cars to appear in the 1962/63 GP season was the Lotus 25. In the load carrying sides of the body, fabric fuel tanks were fitted. Driven by Jim Clark this car won the Belgium grand prix and but for trifling defects which caused its retirements would in all probability have won the first two championship races at Zandvoort and Monte Carlo. 36 castings.

1961 Ferrari 1.5 litre

1961 Ferrari 1.5 litre

Ref: SEF-A003

In 1961 new F.I. requirements required the use of commercial petrol instead of alcohol blends and maximumengine size of 1500cc. Lotus Super 7

Lotus Super 7

Ref: SEF-A007

Historically the trend in sports cars had been away from the stark, near racing car type of machine and towards the closed, comfortable and civilised grand touring car. However, for a few this sofening removed some of the interest from the game. They prefered a sports car to remain a racing car, with just enough lighting and muffling equipment to get the vehicle within the limits prescribed by law. 55 castings.

Mercedes SSKL

Mercedes SSKL

Ref: SEF-A013

It was in the mid 1920s that Ferdinand Porsche decided that Mercedes future prestige lay in the sports car racing field rather than in grand prix competitions.
